In 2021, I met Vickie and Ken Bayles at our daughter and son-in-law's wedding. Vickie and Ken flew in from Alabama to the Central Coast of California to help celebrate.  Vickie and I met that weekend and became instant friends.  I was intrigued by her mini cattle business and visited her farm, HSB Mini Cattle, shortly thereafter.  I knew I would be retiring from my job of 30+ years and mini cattle would be a great project for me.

In 2022, Vickie and Ken took a road trip. They first went to South Dakota and picked up our bull, Dakota, from Little Lucky Cattle Company and then headed west with five J West British White Parks, and a very special silver highland I named Bama (after her birthplace in Alabama).

I have been around cattle ranching for almost 40 years.  My husband, Ray, and his family are third generation cattle ranches on the Central Coast.  His expertise in the cattle business and his support is invaluable.   Ray, his dad and his brothers run approximately 1,000 head of cow-calf and feeder operation.

The rest is history - our mini ranch is full of beautiful highlands ad highparks.
